Georgine Marie Tuominen

Celebrating the life of Georgine Tuominen, who received her angel wings on Saturday May 5, 2018, surrounded in the loving arms of her family in Hibbing, MN, at the age of 73. The loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend will forever be remembered for the joy she brought to our lives and the many contributions she made in this world. Her work in nursing, the various organizations she was involved in as she raised her children, along with her love of baking and sewing to name a few.
Georgine’s life started as the oldest of twin daughters born on April 26, 1945 in Virginia, MN to the late George and Frances Marks. She attended high school in her hometown of Mountain Iron, MN, graduating in 1963. She furthered her education at the Virginia School of Practical Nursing, graduated as an LPN and worked at both the Virginia and Hibbing hospitals as well as St. Michael’s Nursing Home.
Georgine and her first husband, the late Vernon L. Manner, were married in September of 1967 and had three children. After Vernon’s tragic death, Georgine found a second chance at true love and married Michael E. Tuominen Sr. on October 16, 1976 and together raised their family in Buhl, MN.

A celebration of Georgine’s life will take place at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church at 901 4th Street South in Virginia, MN on Tuesday May 15, 2018. A visitation is scheduled for 1:00 pm, service at 2:00 with a coffee and to follow in the fellowship hall.
