Marie Ann Turner

Marie Ann Turner, age 75, of Virginia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10th, 2024 at Carefree Living in Virginia.

Marie was born July 20, 1948 to John and Josephine (Tramontin) Smolensky in Virginia, MN. She was a 1966 graduate of Roosevelt High School, and attended Virginia Junior College. Marie was united in marriage on April 7, 1970 to Steven Turner in Watertown, SD. She retired in 2015 from Virginia Coop Credit Union after 29 years.

She was a bowler for many years and enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, puzzles, and going to the casino; but her passion was baking for her family and friends, while always listening to Elvis. She was an avid fan of the Minnesota Wild and never missed a game on TV. She liked to plan road trips with her family. Marie was a devoted wife, wonderful mother and grandmother; and will be remembered for her big heart, smile, and generosity to others.

She is survived by her daughter, Deanne; granddaughter, Jordana; brother, Bill and his son Michael; sisters-in-law, Vicki Kochevar and Mary Lou (Les) Karkinen; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Steve; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the Range Funeral Home in Virginia at 1 P.M. with the visitation being held one hour prior. Coffee An' will be served next door at the Range Funeral Home Fellowship Hall following the service.
