    Kesti Sumolainen Poika-
You were always a cherished colleague who was ready with intelligent answers to whatever biology questions that I might have. I will miss your astute advice and fondly recall the camaraderie of the old “science lounge”. You were a shining light in a world that is often too dark.

  5. Glenn Bergum says:

Eveleth High School was filled with excellent teachers and Mr. Kesti was one of the best—maybe the best. His Advanced Bio class was probably better than what you might get in some colleges. We also learned about the Ruffed Grouse cycle in his Minnesota Ecology class. He was a joy to have as an instructor.

    Condolences to the family.

I knew Bob most of my life…growing up in Zim all knew each other…we had fun when we made the golf course at Stony Lake…he and his cousin Kenny would always have the largest northerns…he liked to have fun and all could have fun with him…he loved teaching and many students that I knew that had him said, “ they learned more from him than any teacher”…he was a good friend thru the years and kept good memories on our life’s in Zim….Rest In Peace Bob….

Sorry for being late on this!
Mr. Kesti was my favorite teacher at Eveleth High School. Everyone learned so much from him. He was the best! After high school he sold me his beloved red “57 Chevy short box truck. What a nice truck it was! He will be missed by so many!
