We got to know Bert a little during the process of buying the Palo place. I still think of him with great respect almost daily when I use the basement sauna which he built.

May God comfort and bless each one who grieves.

Dearest Dorothy, I thought of Bert and you several times over the years with a smile always coming across my face. I, as well as my folks, have thought the world of you both. You were such great friends to them. I wish I was near so I could give you a long comforting hug. Do take care of yourself. Always, Dorothy

  6. Dale Ranta says:

I happened today to see the message about Bert on the Range Funeral website and am deeply sorry to hear about Bert’s passing. My Dad, Eli Ranta, always
called Bert his only brother. Bert stayed with my grandparents Lauri and Ida Ranta for some time as a foster child way back when. He and my Dad must have hit it off well because they kept contact all through the years. Bert, my Dad, my son Craig and I all went fishing together in the 80s in Canada and Bert was a big help for my mother when Dad passed away 25 years ago. I would see him occasionally when we visited the Range in summers but not often. He will be missed.
