My condolences to Cheri, Brit, Nathan and the rest of your family. Skip was a great friend and neighbor! I enjoyed watching the Twins & Vikings with him out in his “Man Cave”. I”m so sorry he didn’t get to enjoy his retirement longer. Life can be so unfair!

I am sad to see a fellow musician passed away. Skip and I were both in bands in high school. Skip was a member of a band called, Cream Cheese. We played in many of the same places. The Virginia High School Class of 1971 will miss him. I’m sorry for your Loss. With Deepest Sympathy, Carl Antus

Our sympathies to Cheri and all the Nelimark family. Skip was a very dear friend, and one the most talented musicians to ever come out of Virginia. As a founding member of the Virginia band Cats Under the Stars he laid down a solid bass guitar groove for many years, was an exceptional 12 string guitar player, and a truly funny guy. But above all, he was a devoted family man. He will be missed.

I’m in shock seeing this. Steve was just in the office, we talked about his Colorado truck and his music and guitar making, it was a good day. I’ve known Steve for 40+ years, great person, my most sincere of sympathies. Truly this world has lost a very good person, no doubt Steve is making music in Heaven. Please take some comfort in knowing he touched many, I will miss him, a lot.

    With sorrow, and heartfelt sympathy,
Skip, was always very kind, and easy to get along with!
I remember many fun times, and laughter at the Sand Lake cabin. One particular fond memory, was when Skip and his Father would pretend to be Laural, and Hardy while putting the boat dock, in the lake. As I’m sure you can imagine, we all vigorously chuckled.
Your with both Fathers now Skip, and in God’s Glorious Kingdom up in Heaven!
Father, Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth who came in the flesh. Father place Your Healing Hards on every family member. Bless them, hold them close, walk with them, comfort each member through this time. Father, pour Your beautiful Grace, Mercy, and Love all over every heart. In Jesus Christ beautiful Name, I pray! AMEN <3

My deepest condolences to the Nelimark family. I met Skip at the Merritt house. He was such a neat, caring and funny guy. The time our staff and I spent with him will forever leave valuable and memorable experiences in our lives. Not to mention the countless clients that he served with compassion and upmost dignity. I’ve never met a person who didn’t like Skip.

My thoughts with Cherie & Family. I had chance to room with Skip in Mpls in mid-70’s while we were students at the U. Listened to countless hours if him strumming 6 & 12 string guitars. What a self-taught, musical talent he had. That time will not be forgotten. In fact I played some Leo Kottke in his honor after hearing news of his passing. RIP my Funky Friend.
