Patrick “PJ” Jason LaMourea, 45, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Miners Memorial North Side Room in Virginia at 3:00 pm with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm. Fr. Brandon Moravitz will officiate. PJ was born January 8, 1973 in Scott Air Force Base I Belleville, IL.  He attended and graduated from Virginia High School. Following high school, he attended Hibbing Community College and received his Master’s Electrician. He met his wife, Laurie, in Virginia and they married on August 27, 2005.

PJ was a jack of all traits. He loved to golf, play and coach hockey, fish, hunt, cur, and hand out with his family and friends. On his off time, he enjoyed watching western movies.

PJ had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone he was always generous.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie; children, Payton, Heith, and Hunter; mother, Joy (McLeod) LaMourea (Donald Mattonen); father, Rolland Patrick (Barb) LaMourea; sister, Cami; brother, Chad; brother Dean Dieryck; mother and father-in-law, Marly and Tom; sister-in-law, Carrie Allen; sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Mike Plesha; brother-in-law, Lee Cvar; nephews, Austin and Asher Mclaughlin, Mason LaMourea, Zach Allen, and Kolton and Kavan Plesha; and nieces, Alexi Allen and Morgann Plesha.

He was preceded in death by his uncles and Kelly Utt and Roland Francis LaMourea

    PJ was one of the good guys. I’ve only gotten to know him the last 5 years through Mines and Pines and more recently through UTAC. He was always there for me on every one of my projects.
