Michael Allen Coleman

Michael Allen Coleman, age 65, passed away suddenly at his home in Mountain Iron, on Wednesday, December 25, 2019. He was born February 20, 1954 in Minot, North Dakota to Warren and Irene Coleman and he was one of six children. His life was defined by his faith, family, and kindness to others. He graduated from Mountain Iron High School in 1972 and moved to Duluth, Minnesota. He became a member of The International Painters and Allied Trades Union working at Skoglund Communications and other companies until retiring in 2009. His family was very important to him as evident by his love for his daughters, Dana and Jessica, who he shared with former spouse, Linda Case. Michael enjoyed watching his children at various activities and was very proud to discuss their accomplishments in life. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Virginia and Mountain Iron Senior Citizen Center.
He loved to visit with others, watch sports, especially the Minnesota Twins, and spent time with family. Michael will be remembered for his love and selflessness he brought to helping others. Left to honor and carrying on his legacy are his daughters, Dana (Derek) Behrends and Jessica (Joseph) Fick; his 5 grandchildren, Hailey Behrends, Peyton Behrends, Rihanna Behrends, Brock Fick and Jackson Fick; his sisters, Linda Hubbard, Karen (Kent) Kehus, Mary (Jim) Savela, and brother Bill Coleman, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rick Coleman.
A funeral will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Virginia, MN on January 10th, 2019 with visitation at 1pm and the service at 2pm. Pastor Eric Roth will officiate with a meal immediately following in the hall. All are welcome to help celebrate Michael’s life. Arrangements are with Range Funeral Home in Virginia.
