John was born September 16, 1933 in International Falls, MN to George and Agnes (Tilton) Newman.

In previous years, he enjoyed fishing trips up to Canada and fishing with his family. He really enjoyed moments when family and friends visited him for coffee and conversations. The apple of his eye was when the nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews would come see him. Photos of them all were always displayed throughout his apartment. His love was always for his Green Bay Packers and W.W.E. Wrestling. He never missed watching these two.

John is survived by one brother, Joseph (Joe) Newman of Jordan, MN.

John is preceded in death by his parents and numerous brothers and sisters.

Special thanks to Jeff, Matt for your friendship and compassion and the rest of John’s staff at Cornerstone Villa. We would also like to thank Zach, Miranda, and Hannah at the East Range Hospice (Hibbing).

Thanks for all the memories John-John.

You were by far the best uncle. Your funny, quick comments will always be the greatest memories. Your compassion for people was outstanding. Your love for the Green Bay Packers and Wrestling I will always remember (even of we had different football teams) Will always remember our visits and trips that we shared along the way. Our Holidays together. Barbeque”s and visiting all day long on the deck. You were so funny. Never knew actually what was gonna come out of your mouth, appropriate or not. You were loved by so many. Family/freinds. You had many. Thank you for the bond that you had with the great great nieces/nephews and with myself and Rodger. We all hold all of these memories near and dear to our hearts forever. You will live on in stories, pictures, videos, that we have. You are one of a kind. We will miss you forever. You rest. Until we see you again John-John. Love you so much.
