My first principal and one of the best “bosses” I ever had in my 44 yr of teaching in the Babbitt/Embarrass school. Mr. Lamppa was always supporting and wanting the best for all the students & his teachers in our school. The local school board at that time made a big mistake not hiring him to become their Supt. of schools for Babbitt/Embarrass!! R.I.P. “Pete”! You deserve the rest!!

  2. Patricia Heikkila says:

Mr. Lamppa was my sixth grade teacher in Soudan Elementary school. He was a great teacher and always treated every fairly. Patricia Hanka

Uncle Francis will always be remembered as a caring and kind Uncle. I recall him bringing my sister, Bethene and I for a stays at his home in Babbitt; enjoying the time playing with my cousins. His kindness even extended to taking my sister in to live with his family while my mother was hospitalized. Thank you for your care and kindness for your sister’s kids. May your spirit live on in each of us….”Be good, be kind, and take care”. Love…one of those kids, Kim Janeksela
